Boli is a linear pendant: a matt black painted steel bar 100 cm long carrying three globe shades in copper mirrored glass, hung on black fabric-braided cables. The shades are open at the bottom, so the lamp stays visible. What to hang it over, and how high The bar measures 100 cm long and 20 cm deep, and the three light points spread along its whole length. The manufacturer intends the fitting for a dining table and for a breakfast bar in the kitchen — over a table the bar is usually chosen shorter than the top, so the light lands on the surface rather than past its edges. The drop adjusts between 35 and 142 cm by shortening the 1.2 m cable. It is usually shortened so the bottom edge of the shades sits 70-80 cm above the table top: the light then covers the whole surface without shining into the eyes of anyone seated. Which lamps to buy The fitting takes three E27 sources of up to 10 W each and they are not supplied, so colour and brightness are your choice. For a dining room 2700-3000 K is the usual pick, meaning warm, slightly yellow light. The manufacturer recommends E27 LED filament GLS lamps, and the reason follows from the build: the shades are open underneath and the mirrored copper throws back whatever sits inside them, so the lamp is part of what you see. The fitting can be dimmed, but that needs a dimmer and a lamp described as dimmable — the fitting itself carries no dimming electronics. Finish and mounting The metalwork is painted matt black and the shades are glass with a copper mirrored coating that reflects the room and gives the reflected light a warm tone. The whole fitting weighs 2.9 kg, so fixing the bar calls for a solid ceiling anchor rather than a plug in plasterboard alone. The fitting is class II, so it needs no earth connection.
