Both are plant-based, and the weave is left undyed, so the colour comes from the material itself rather than from a coating. The frayed edges of each ring are a deliberate part of the weave, not a finish waiting to be trimmed. Every piece is made by hand in Indonesia. The manufacturer notes that on goods produced this way small irregularities, differences in shade and slight departures from the photograph are a property of the material rather than a fault. Where it can hang and how to look after it The manufacturer intends this decoration for indoor use only and asks that it be kept in a dry room: excess moisture weakens the fibres and can pull the disc out of shape. A bathroom or a covered terrace is ruled out for the same reason. Routine cleaning needs no more than a soft brush or a cloth to lift dust from between the fibres.
