The Steinel IS 130-2 is a surface-mounted infrared motion detector for wall installation. The housing is black UV-resistant plastic (RAL 9005), with a white segmented lens projecting beneath it. The unit measures 87 × 78 × 110 mm and weighs 0.16 kg. What it detects, and at what distance The field of view is 130° horizontally and 40° vertically, divided into 260 switching zones. Range depends on the direction of movement: someone walking across the field is picked up at 12 m (163 m² of covered area), someone walking straight at the detector only at 3 m (10 m²). That fourfold difference decides the aiming — the detector is turned side-on to the path it guards, not to face along it. Under-crawl protection covers the zone directly beneath the housing, so nobody passes under the detector unnoticed. Individual segments of the field can be masked off so the unit ignores movement on the street or at a neighbour's. Steinel specifies mounting between 1.8 and 3 m, with 2 m given as the optimum. What can be connected to it The detector runs on 230–240 V, 50 Hz and switches a resistive load of up to 600 W. The LED limits are markedly lower and are usually the ones that bind: 250 W with fittings above 8 W, 125 W with 2–8 W fittings and 100 W below 2 W, with a maximum of 50 LED fittings and a load capacitance of up to 88 µF. Fluorescent lamps on electronic ballast come to 250 W, low-voltage halogen to 500 VA. The connection is work on mains voltage and belongs to an electrician. The box holds the detector alone — the corner wall bracket is not included and has to be bought separately if the unit is to sit on the corner of a building. Settings and linked operation The twilight threshold is adjustable from 2 to 1000 lx and the on-time from 5 seconds to 35 minutes. Both are set on potentiometers on the housing; no remote control is offered for this model. Mixed-light measurement lets the detector read ambient brightness even while the connected luminaire is already lit. Several detectors can be wired together master/master — movement seen by any one of them switches the shared lighting, which matters along a longer facade or a driveway covered from both ends. Operating conditions IP54 is protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction, so the detector can work on an exposed wall. Steinel permits temperatures from -20 to 50 °C and intends the unit for a house entrance, the area around a building, a terrace, a balcony, a yard and a driveway, as well as indoors.Mostrar mais
