Raffia Driftwood Wall Decoration BAZAR BIZAR Natural Wood 60 cm

Name: Raffia Driftwood Wall Decoration BAZAR BIZAR Natural Wood 60 cm
Brand: BAZAR BIZAR

Raffia Driftwood is a hanging wall decoration made of layered pieces of natural driftwood, a few wooden beads and a raffia fringe tassel at the bottom. The whole piece hangs from its own cord loop. The wood is a grey-beige tone with knots and bore holes on show; the raffia is straw-coloured. Size and hanging The decoration measures 60 cm long, 15 cm wide and 3 cm thick. Those 60 cm are the full drop including the cord and the tassel, so it is worth measuring them down the wall from the point where the hook is to go. It weighs 120 g, about as much as a small mug. At that weight an ordinary hook or wall plug is enough and there is no need to find a structural member. The loop is part of the piece, so no cord has to be tied or bent into shape. What it is made of The materials are wood and raffia, a natural fibre. The wood pieces are left raw, with the bark off but without being sanded smooth, so splits and small losses stay visible on them. Each piece is made by hand in Indonesia, and the maker states that colour, texture and detailing vary between pieces. The arrangement of the branches and the length of the tassel in the photograph are therefore an example rather than a pattern reproduced to the millimetre. Where it can hang and how to look after it The maker intends it for indoor use only. Wood and raffia both absorb moisture, so a terrace, a balcony or a covered garden are out, and in a bathroom the piece would sit in constant damp. Care comes down to dusting the wood and the raffia with a soft cloth or brush and keeping the piece in a dry place. The tassel is not washed or soaked.Mostrar mais
