The ALI 5639 is a single-light pendant from Zuma Line: a black ceiling rose and black cable, below them a gold-finished metal tube, and at its end a white opal glass globe 12 cm across. How big it is and how low it hangs The rigid part of the fitting — tube plus globe — measures 40 cm. The rest of the suspension is cable, and the maximum drop is 180 cm; it is shortened at the cable, while those 40 cm cannot be shortened and are therefore the least height the lamp takes up below the ceiling. Over a table the drop is usually set so the bottom of the shade sits 70–80 cm above the top. A 12 cm globe is small for lighting a table on its own, so over a longer top these pendants are hung several in a row. Which bulb to buy The fitting has one G9 lampholder and takes bulbs up to 40 W — that is the fitting's ceiling, not its consumption; a G9 LED of similar brightness draws a few watts. No bulb is supplied, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself: for a living or dining room usually 2700–3000 K, which is warm light. The opal glass spreads the light in every direction and hides the bulb, so the light point does not glare even from the height of a dining table. The lamp runs on 230 V mains and is rated IP20, which covers dry rooms only — not above a bath and not under an outdoor canopy. Build and where it fits The structure is metal and the shade is glass. The manufacturer gives black as the dominant colour and gold as the secondary one: the rose and cable are black, while the supporting tube is gold and stays the most visible element against the white globe. The shape is modern and pared back to three parts — a line, a sphere and a cable. The manufacturer intends it for a living room, dining room, kitchen, study or office, hallway and bedroom: wherever a narrow, uncluttered point of light is wanted rather than a fitting for general lighting.Mostrar mais
