ESPADA is a wall light built around a vertical cylinder of clear glass, held between two polished chrome fin-shaped end caps and topped with a knurled finial. A chrome arm carries the cylinder out from a round wall plate. A textured LED module runs inside the glass and stays visible through the shade even when the lamp is off. How big it is and how it is wired The fitting is 50.5 cm tall and 16 cm wide, so it reads as strongly vertical — compare that height with the clear strip of wall you have, beside a mirror for instance. It projects 18 cm from the wall, worth checking in a narrow passage and next to a door. It weighs 2.78 kg and is wired permanently into a 220-240 V supply: there is no plug and no switch on the cable. It is protection class II, so no earth conductor is needed, and the mounting height is not adjustable. What kind of light it gives The LED module is built into the fitting and supplied with it: 18 W, 1064 lm, 3000 K warm white. That is more light than an old 60 W bulb gave. Ra 93 means colours appear close to how they look in daylight, which counts where colours have to be right — at a mirror and in a dressing area. The shade is clear rather than opal: the lit core is visible directly, and the cut of the glass refracts the light along the whole cylinder. The fitting is dimmable, but because the LED module is integrated the brightness is set by a dimmer in the installation rather than by the choice of bulb - and for the same reason the light source is not replaced once it wears out. Where it can go The manufacturer intends ESPADA for interiors and for the bathroom. IP44 means protection against splashing water from any direction, which allows mounting beside a mirror; it is not a fitting for inside a shower enclosure or over a bath. The collection refers to 1950s design and to the work of Raymond Loewy — the tail-fin end caps quote that idiom. The design comes from the Eurofase brand and is distributed in Europe by Quintiesse.
