Norlys RENA 1753ST square drive-over in-ground light, stainless steel, LED 4.2 W 4000 K IP68

Name: Norlys RENA 1753ST square drive-over in-ground light, stainless steel, LED 4.2 W 4000 K IP68
Brand: NORLYS

Rena 1753ST is a square NORLYS in-ground light that a car can drive over. The 13 × 13 cm front is stainless steel with a round satin safety-glass diffuser at its centre, and the body below it is powder-coated cast aluminium.Where it can be installedNorlys allows vehicles on pneumatic tyres to drive over it and states a maximum load of 2000 kg, so it suits a driveway or a path that a passenger car uses. Norlys does rule out traffic lanes where wheels brake, accelerate or turn, because those movements load the fitting from the side. The body reaches 15.7 cm into the ground, so the hole has to be at least that deep. The light is screwed down through three ø4.5 mm holes on a 100 mm circle, either into an installation box set as described in the manual or into a prepared opening in timber, such as decking boards. The connection boxes 145 and 146 are sold separately. The fitting comes with 1 m of H05BQ-F 3G1 cable ending in a THB.391.R4A.L connector. What light it givesThe integrated LED module draws 4.2 W and the luminaire delivers 219 lm at 4000 K, a neutral white. The satin glass diffuses the light, so from above you see an evenly lit disc rather than individual LEDs, and all of the output goes upwards. Norlys intends it as an orientation light or for lighting from below; at 219 lm it marks the edge of a driveway or walkway rather than lighting the whole surface. It can be dimmed with a phase dimmer of either type, trailing edge (TE) or leading edge (LE). The LED module is replaced by a professional service, not by the user, and Norlys lists a service kit for it. The stated lifetime is L70 above 59,000 h: after that time the module still gives at least 70% of its initial output.Sealing and electrical safetyIP68 means dust-tight and protected against immersion, rated by the maker to 1 m, which matters for a fitting set in the ground that stands in water after every downpour. Impact resistance IK09 corresponds to 10 J. The light is protection class I, so the protective earth conductor has to be connected. In the Rena range the same square body also comes at 3000 K (1752ST), and the round version of this light is 1751ST.Show more
