s.luce Orb pendant light, 40 cm glass globe, copper gradient, black suspension, E27, 500 cm drop

Name: s.luce Orb pendant light, 40 cm glass globe, copper gradient, black suspension, E27, 500 cm drop
Brand: s.luce

s.luce Orb is a pendant light with a single handmade glass globe 40 cm in diameter, hung on a black suspension up to 500 cm long. The glass has a copper gradient: copper at the top, fading towards the bottom into light, translucent glass. Inside, the globe hangs from three metal rods, so the lampholder and bulb sit at its centre. What is in the box and how low it hangsThis is one globe on one suspension. The photos with several globes show how s.luce groups Orb lights together — each globe in such an arrangement is a separate item, and the series covers diameters from 20 to 50 cm and several glass colours that can be combined. The suspension comes at 500 cm and is shortened to the length you need, and a mechanism in the canopy then allows small height corrections without cutting again. The maker intends this light for tall rooms: galleries and mezzanines, entrance halls and stairwells, where the globe hangs far below the ceiling. The 40 cm globe is the dimension to compare with the width of the stair flight or the space it will hang in.What bulb it needsThe fitting has one E27 socket rated up to 40 W, and no bulb is included. The 40 cm globe accepts a bulb up to 12 cm in diameter. Because the lower part of the glass is translucent, the bulb is visible — s.luce recommends decorative vintage-style LED bulbs, whose filament becomes part of the look. The light can be dimmed with a bulb marked as dimmable and a dimmer in the installation. For reference: about 800 lm matches an old 60 W bulb, and 2700 K is a warm, slightly yellowish light.Build and connectionThe globe is glass; the suspension and lampholder are black metal. The maker describes the light as handmade. The fitting is rated IP20, so it is meant for dry interiors, and it is protection class I, so it needs an installation with an earth conductor.Mostra di più
