SPLIT 8883 is a slim aluminium tube in black, mounted on the surface of the ceiling. A flat cap closes it at the top and the light leaves through a ring at the bottom holding the lampholder. Mantra offers the same body in three lengths — S, M and L; 8883 is the L version. How far it drops below the ceiling The tube is 302 mm long and 40 mm across. Because it fixes onto the ceiling rather than into it, the whole 30 cm hangs down into the room — a dimension to weigh against your ceiling height, and to check against anything below it, such as a walkway or a table people stand up from. At 40 mm the diameter is smaller than a standard installation box, and the complete fitting weighs 0.23 kg. Mounting needs no cut-out in the ceiling; the fitting rests against its surface. Which lamp you need to buy There is a single GU10 lampholder and the manufacturer supplies no lamp. Wattage, light colour and beam angle are therefore the buyer's decision — and with one downward-facing point it is the beam angle of the lamp you choose that decides whether the tube lights a pool on the floor or a wider part of the room. The manufacturer states that the fitting is not dimmable and that its length is not adjustable — the tube is a fixed 302 mm and neither shortens nor extends. Supply and operating conditions The fitting runs on 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz. It is Class II, double insulated, and needs no protective earth connection — when replacing an older fitting on a ceiling with no earth core, that is the difference that decides whether the installation works. An IP20 rating means no protection against water, so the fitting is intended for dry interiors only. The body is aluminium in black; the same tube is also made in white.Mostra di più
