CUMBERLAND in its single-light version is a slender pendant: a thin wire drops from a brushed gold ceiling pan, and below it a steel rod carries an elongated capsule of white opal glass. The rod continues below the capsule, so the silhouette stays a line rather than a shade. The light source is a built-in 10 W LED module. Size and suspension The fitting itself is 54.8 cm tall and 13 cm across at its widest, and the drop adjusts between 63.5 cm and 303.5 cm. The upper figure allows the pendant to hang over a stairwell or in a room with a high ceiling; over a table the bottom edge usually sits 70-80 cm above the surface. It comes with 2.44 m of suspension wire, cut to length during installation. The height is therefore set once, when the pendant goes up — changing it later means a new wire, so it is worth measuring the drop before cutting. What kind of light it gives The module delivers 810 lm, roughly what the old 60 W incandescent bulb gave. One fitting lights a defined spot — part of a worktop, a bedside table, the area over an island — rather than a whole room; the manufacturer specifically expects several to be installed alongside one another. 3000 K is warm light with a slightly yellow cast, and a colour rendering index of Ra 92 is at the high end: food, fabric and wood keep their natural colour under it. The opal glass glows evenly all round, through a full 360°, so the light forms no distinct cone on the surface below but spreads in every direction. The fitting is dimmable. Build and installation The body is steel finished in brushed gold and the shade is white glass. The declared protection class II means double insulation — no earth conductor is needed for the connection, which can be the deciding point in an older installation without one. The fitting weighs 0.72 kg, so the load on the ceiling is negligible. The LED module is built in and is not changed like a bulb; the manufacturer quotes 20,000 hours.
