Orb Table Lamp - Clear Glass, White Shade, Polished Nickel Elstead

Name: Orb Table Lamp - Clear Glass, White Shade, Polished Nickel Elstead
Brand: Elstead Lighting

Orb is a table lamp whose body is a clear glass globe set between two polished nickel parts — a top collar and a round foot. A white drum shade in faux linen finishes it. It is Elstead Lighting's own line, made in England. Size and space on the furniture The lamp is 67 cm high and the shade is 36 cm across — compare that with the depth of the chest of drawers, console or bedside table it will stand on, so the shade does not overhang the top. It weighs 2.38 kg, and the wide metal foot keeps it steady. It runs from a plug, so no installation is needed: a nearby socket is enough. It is Class I, so it must be plugged into an earthed socket. The manufacturer specifies it for indoor use only. Bulb and light There is one E27 lampholder for a bulb of up to 60 W. The bulb is not included, so brightness and colour are your choice — for a lamp on a sideboard or for reading, 2700–3000 K is the usual pick: warm, slightly yellow light. The white fabric shade diffuses the light and sends it up and down through its openings, while the glass globe stays clear, with the metal stem visible inside. The fitting is compatible with dimmable bulbs: dimming needs a dimmer and a bulb marked as dimmable. Style and intended use The manufacturer describes the form as classic with a modern twist: the traditional silhouette of a shaded lamp, but with a body of plain clear glass and bright nickel in place of ornament. The lamp is assigned to the office. The same lamp also comes with a black shade, and in aged brass with a white shade.Show more
