Klampenborg wall lantern - 1 light source - Fir green Elstead

Name: Klampenborg wall lantern - 1 light source - Fir green Elstead
Brand: Elstead Lighting

Klampenborg is an outdoor wall lantern in a classic Scandinavian form: a curved swan-neck arm rises from a round wall plate and carries a wide, flat hood, beneath which hangs a cylindrical clear-glass shade. The whole fitting is finished in Fir Green. It belongs to the distributor Elstead Lighting's own range. The form does without ornament — a smooth arm curve, a broad hood and exposed glass.Size and where it fitsThe lantern is 25.5 cm high and 27.5 cm wide, and it projects 42 cm from the wall. Compare that projection with the width of the path by your door and with any door frame or downpipe next to the mounting point — the hood reaches further out than the wall plate. It mounts on a flat wall. Where the entrance has no straight stretch of wall, the maker offers separately sold corner brackets (C-BKT2 in brown or black and C-BKT5 in black) that let the lantern sit on the corner of the building.Built for outdoor conditionsIP44 means protection against splashing water from any direction, so the lantern can hang on the facade by the front door, on a terrace or beside the garage, exposed to rain. The body is grade 304 stainless steel with a powder-coated finish, and the hood is aluminium. The maker also states protection against sea water, which matters for houses on the coast, where salt air quickly corrodes ordinary steel. The fitting is protection class I, so it must be connected to an earth conductor — something for the electrician to note before installation.Light sourceThere is one E27 lampholder for a bulb of up to 60 W. No bulb is included, so you choose its colour temperature and brightness yourself. Through the clear glass the bulb stays visible, and its shape becomes part of the lantern's look. The fitting works with dimmable lamps: with a dimmer you need a bulb marked as dimmable.Show more
