CALICE 7891 is a pendant shaped like a shallow, widely opened cone 48 cm across. The shade is matt black on top and light underneath; the fitting hangs from a thin rod below a cylindrical canopy, on a 1.5 m cable. The body combines aluminium, acrylic and steel. How big it is and how to hang it At 48 cm the shade covers roughly half the width of a typical dining table — over a top 80–90 cm wide it sits across the middle without blocking the view of the people around it. Overall height adjusts between 26.5 and 200 cm, so the same lamp works under a low ceiling and over a tall space. The fitting weighs 1.8 kg and is also rated for stretch ceilings. It is built to protection class II, which means the connection needs no earth conductor — live and neutral are enough. The light it gives The 16 W LED module runs at 3000 K, a warm white with a slight yellow cast. The module itself produces 1950 lm, but the shape of the shade means 1200 lm leave the fitting, and that is the figure to compare with other lamps: about one and a half times an old 60 W incandescent. The diode faces upward into the pale inside of the shade, and the light reaches the room by reflection. Nothing glowing is visible from underneath, and the pool of light is wide and soft. The lamp cannot be dimmed — brightness is fixed, whatever dimmer the circuit has. The light source is built in The LED module is not replaceable, so the life of the diode is the life of the fitting. Build and form The black is shade RAL 9011, and the pale inside acts as the reflector. The shape is minimal: a cone, a rod and a cylinder, with no ornament and no visible joints.
