The NICOLETA 805 is a pendant lamp with three shades hung in a line beneath a white rectangular ceiling bar. The shades are built from vertical slats of whitewashed plywood, and each hangs on its own white cord. The frame combines metal with plywood. How big it is and how low it hangs The bar is 72 cm long and a single shade 21 cm across. The maker gives a height of 120 cm — that is the maximum drop including the suspension, not the size of the fitting itself; the cords are shortened during installation. At 72 cm the bar suits a table from roughly a metre long upwards. The drop is usually set so the lower edge of the shades sits 70–80 cm above the tabletop — the light then covers the table without shining into the eyes of anyone seated. Gross weight is 1.7 kg. Bulbs have to be bought separately The fitting has three E27 sockets and no lamps are supplied. The maker states a maximum bulb rating of 60 W — that is the limit per socket, so colour and brightness are your choice: about 800 lm from one lamp matches the old 60-watt bulb. The shade is openwork: gaps remain between the plywood slats, and light leaves through them sideways and towards the ceiling as well. For the same reason the bulb is visible from below and from the side, which is worth weighing when choosing between a frosted lamp and a clear one with a visible filament. Where to hang it The maker intends the fitting for a living room, a kitchen, a hall and for catering premises. IP20 limits mounting to dry indoor rooms.
