TRANG 50 is a pendant made of two separate bodies: a yellow cylindrical canopy right at the ceiling and a vertical opal tube closed at both ends with yellow caps. The tube hangs on a thin wire with a black cable running beside it. The body is steel and the diffuser is plastic. How big it is and how it hangs The canopy is a cylinder 6 cm across and 26 cm tall — a visible part of the fitting rather than a flat rose covering the ceiling box. The lit tube is 3 cm in diameter and 50 cm long and hangs vertically, so the whole lamp occupies a strip only a few centimetres wide. The manufacturer gives a total height of 200 cm measured from the ceiling. Over a table the usual rule is to have the lower edge of the shade 70-80 cm above the tabletop — compare that with the height of your own room. The lamp weighs 1.1 kg. How much light it gives The LED module is included and built into the fitting — no bulb is bought for it and none is changed the way a bulb is. The lamp draws 13 W and gives 1719 lm, more than twice what an old 60 W bulb produced. 3000 K is warm white, a slightly yellow light close to a traditional bulb. The opal tube spreads it along its whole length, so the fitting throws light sideways and downwards rather than in one concentrated beam the way a spotlight does. Where to hang it The manufacturer intends the pendant version for above a table, above a kitchen island, in a circulation zone and in a seating area. A 3 cm tube does not block the view across a table, so several can be hung in a row over a longer worktop.
