The STD LED strip from LED Labs is a 5 m reel of 12 V strip with SMD 2835 diodes, giving warm white light at 3000 K. Each metre carries 60 diodes, 300 over the whole reel. The IP65HS version is enclosed in a clear heat-shrink sleeve instead of a thick silicone coating. Power and choosing a driver The strip draws 4.8 W per metre, so the full reel is 24 W. It runs on 12 V DC and cannot be plugged straight into a socket: it needs a 12 V LED driver, which is not included. Size the driver from the length, 4.8 W times the number of metres, and add a margin, usually around 20%. How much light, and what kind The manufacturer quotes 500 lm per metre at 104 lm/W, so the whole reel gives about 2500 lm. That is enough for lighting cabinets, shelves and recesses, but not for the main light in a room. 3000 K is warm white, and CRI 80 means sound everyday colour rendering. The energy class is F. Installation and operating conditions The board is 8 mm wide and backed with double-sided adhesive tape, so it sticks directly to the surface or into an aluminium profile at least 8 mm wide inside. It is cut at the marked points every 50 mm, and each run has to be planned as a multiple of that. Runs are joined with connectors for 8 mm single-colour strips. The IP65 rating protects the strip against water jets, and the manufacturer gives an operating range of -20 to +45°C, so it also suits a bathroom or a covered outdoor area. Rated lifetime is L70/B50 15,000 hours, with a 2-year warranty. IP65HS strips are sold only in full 5 m reels.Pokaż więcej
