IVAR is a ceiling light shaped as a short tube 6.4 cm across, fluted vertically over its full height. The body is aluminium in a deep ultramarine shade, and the reflector sits well back inside the housing, visible from below. How big the fitting is and how it mounts The tube is 12 cm tall and 6.4 cm in diameter — that is how far the fitting drops below the ceiling and how much of the ceiling it covers. It weighs 0.41 kg in total, so it needs no reinforced fixing and no heavier-duty back box. Mounting is surface: a round base plate is screwed to the ceiling with two screws and plugs, and the tube goes on from underneath. The cores wire permanently into the 230 V supply — the fitting carries no switch and no plug of its own. How much light IVAR gives and of what kind The built-in LED module draws 8 W and returns 1188 lm, roughly half as much again as an old 60 W bulb. At 4000 K the light is neutral, with no yellow or blue cast, and Ra 90 means wall, worktop and fabric colours read almost as they do in daylight. The beam is 36° wide, so the light travels down in a concentrated cone: 2.5 m below the fitting it covers a circle about 1.5 m across. One unit therefore lights a chosen part of a room rather than the whole of it. The recessed reflector cuts glare when the fitting is seen from the side. The source cannot be replaced — it is part of the fitting and comes with it. Dimming needs a component in the installation Every IVAR fitting supports DALI-2 and PUSH DIMM as standard. In both cases the dimming is done from the installation side: a DALI controller, or an ordinary retractive push switch wired into the circuit. There is no dial or dimmer on the body itself, so without those components the fitting runs at full output. Which rooms it is meant for The maker intends IVAR for living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, bedrooms and entrance areas, and among working spaces for offices and restaurants. The form is minimalist: one flat colour, no ornament, and the vertical fluting as the only detail.
