The Gea Luce GAP592 is a wall light with a square aluminium plate from which a cylindrical head projects on a joint. The whole fitting is finished in matt gold, and a rocker switch sits on the lower part of the plate. Light leaves through a clear anti-glare methacrylate diffuser. How much wall it takes and how it is aimed The plate is a 10.4 x 10.4 cm square standing 3 cm off the wall, and the head projects 10.8 cm at a diameter of 3.2 cm. That is a size which fits above a bed head or beside a mirror, where a larger fitting has no room. The head turns through 350 degrees and tilts from 0 to 90 degrees, so once mounted you aim the light at a book, a picture or the wall without moving the plate. The switch on the body turns it on without reaching for the wall switch, which on a reading light is a practical difference. How much light it gives The 3 W LED module produces 180 lm in a 30-degree beam. That is roughly a quarter of what an old 60 W bulb gave, and concentrated into a narrow cone as well: the GAP592 lights a chosen patch rather than a room, and works alongside the main lighting rather than instead of it. 3000 K is warm white, and Ra above 90 means colours under this light look close to how they look by day — which matters when the fitting points at a picture or at a page. It cannot be dimmed; the control is plain on and off. Supply, mounting and service life The fitting connects to 220-240 V mains, with no driver to arrange. The manufacturer states insulation class II, so the installation needs no earth conductor, and IP20 — the light is intended for interiors only, outside the splash zone of a bathroom. The LED module is built in permanently and included in the price; there is no lampholder and no bulb to change. The maker quotes 25,000 hours of operation, after which the whole fitting is replaced.
