CHAIN 158 is a pendant built as a plain horizontal bar 158 cm long, made up of repeating links that read like a chain. The steel body is finished in matt taupe — a warm grey-beige — and the fitting hangs on a black cable from a cylindrical canopy in the same shade. How big it is and how high it hangs The bar is 158 cm long and 10 cm wide and high, so this is a fitting to hang along a worktop rather than at a single point above its centre. Compare that length with your own table or island: a bar shorter than the top lights the whole working surface. Maximum drop is 200 cm and it is shortened during installation — usually so the lower edge sits 70–80 cm above the tabletop. The canopy is a cylinder 6 cm across and 26 cm long, and the whole lamp weighs 6 kg, which on a plasterboard ceiling means fixing into the supporting structure. How much light it gives and how it is dimmed The built-in LED module draws at most 19.5 W and delivers 2578 lm — roughly what three old 60 W bulbs gave — enough for the bar to be the main light over a table. The 3000 K colour temperature is warm white, warmer than daylight and calmer than the 4000 K version of the same fitting. The source is built in, so there is no bulb to buy or replace. The manufacturer states integrated PUSH-DIMM/DALI control: the level is set from an ordinary momentary push-button or a DALI controller, with no dimmable bulb and no dimmer in the circuit. How it is built and where to hang it The links overlap in pairs with an opal diffuser running between them, and the light leaves alternately downwards and upwards — hence the broken, rhythmic look visible in the photographs.
