Ashland Bay is a wall light for two lamps. A curved, polished chrome backplate carries a crossbar, and on it two lantern-shaped shades of glass with air bubbles trapped inside, ribbed across the lower part. The fitting is 362 mm wide and stands 166 mm out from the wall. Size and where it goes The fitting measures 362 mm wide, 206 mm high and 166 mm deep. Compare the width with the width of your own mirror — a fitting of these proportions hangs above it or beside it, and the 166 mm projection decides how much room it takes up in front of the wall. The manufacturer states that the fitting is not height adjustable: its position is settled once, when the holes are drilled. The fitting itself weighs 2.15 kg. Lamps and light The fitting takes two E27 lamps of up to 60 W each — that is the maximum allowed per lamp, not the power the wall light draws. Lamps are not supplied, so you choose colour and brightness yourself: 2700 K gives warm, slightly yellow light close to a traditional bulb, while 4000 K gives neutral light under which colours read more faithfully, which matters at a mirror. The fitting has no built-in driver and no dimmer of its own. The manufacturer describes it as compatible with dimmable lamps, so dimming needs a dimmable bulb and a dimmer in the circuit. Bathroom, protection class and supply The manufacturer designates Ashland Bay for interiors and bathrooms. The IP44 rating means protection against splashing water from any direction — from this level the fitting suits a room with a bath or a shower. The fitting is Class I, so it needs an earthed conductor. It runs on a fixed connection to a 220–240 V 50 Hz supply: there is no plug and no lead to a socket, it is wired to the cables in the wall. Build and family Body and lampholders are steel in polished chrome; the shades are glass with air bubbles deliberately sealed into it, ribbed around the lower part. The manufacturer describes Ashland Bay as a range with a nautical character and a vintage-inspired look, and the shade shape echoes a ship's lamp. The family also includes wall lights for one, three and four lamps and flush ceiling lights, in polished chrome and in natural brass.
