Kalimera 4039 is a single-light pendant with a clear glass shade shaped as a cylinder with rounded shoulders. The canopy, lampholder and cable are lacquered steel and plastic in matt black, and the shade is open at the bottom, so the lamp stays in view. How low it hangs and how much room it needs The shade alone is 140 mm across and 280 mm tall, the canopy is 80 mm across and 30 mm deep, and the cable is at most 800 mm long. Total drop therefore reaches 1100 mm, and it is set at installation by shortening the cable. Over a table the drop is usually set so that the lower edge of the shade sits 70–80 cm above the top. At 140 mm across this is a fitting to hang singly over a narrow worktop, or in a row over a longer table. It weighs 0,7 kg net. What lamp to buy for it There is one lampholder with an E27 thread rated up to 15 W; no lamp is supplied. The maker's instruction sheet gives the maximum envelope: 50 mm across and 105 mm long. A classic A60 pear is 60 mm across and will not fit this shade — narrower lamps do, a G45 golf ball or a candle for instance. The pictograms on the instruction sheet cross out the incandescent lamp and show LED, so the 15 W ceiling applies to LED lamps. The fitting is prepared for a dimmer, which additionally calls for a lamp marked as dimmable. Because the glass is colourless, the look of the filament is part of the look of the pendant. Installation and build The pendant is for indoor use only and is class I, so the cable in the ceiling has to carry an earth conductor. Two wall plugs with screws for the mounting bar are in the box.
