The VALLES LE62594 is a ceiling recessed downlight with a round bezel in matt white and an aluminium body ending in a heatsink with vertical fins. A flat honeycomb-structured lens sits in the middle of the bezel. Two springs, visible on the sides of the body, hold the fitting in the ceiling. Which dimensions to check before fitting The manufacturer's drawing gives three figures. The bezel is 14 cm across and is the part that stays visible on the ceiling. The body with its heatsink is narrower, 11.9 cm, and that width has to pass through the cut opening. The fitting is 6.5 cm deep — that much clear space has to remain above the ceiling board, plus room for the cable. The light window itself is 7.2 cm, half the bezel diameter: the lit part is markedly smaller than the fitting, the rest a smooth white rim. How much light it gives, and what kind The built-in LED module delivers 2889 lm at 4000 K. That is neutral white — cooler than the yellow of an incandescent bulb, with no blue cast — and a flux at that level from a single fitting is enough for general lighting rather than only for accent light. The manufacturer states a colour rendering index above Ra 90, so colours read almost as they do in daylight — that matters in a kitchen, at a mirror, and anywhere a fabric or food tone is judged. The light leaves at a 60-degree angle, covering a broad pool beneath the fitting rather than a narrow beam, and the honeycomb lens spreads the module across its whole face, so looking up you do not see one bright point. LED module and supply The light source is built in and forms part of the fitting — there is no thread and no bulb to change, so when the module reaches its end the whole fitting is replaced. The manufacturer allows for 50,000 operating hours and gives a five-year warranty. The module draws 25 W at 230 V. The finned heatsink above the bezel sheds heat into the space above the ceiling, so the fitting needs air around it rather than a tight wrap of insulation. Where it works Neutral colour, high colour rendering and a wide angle make a set for working light: living room, kitchen, entrance hall and corridor at home, and equally an office or shop floor where goods should look as they do in daylight.
