The s.luce Made Ring in the 100 cm size is a pendant built from a single black ring. The aluminium profile is 8 cm high and only 1 cm thick, and the LED strip runs the whole way round it, so the entire circular edge lights up rather than one point.How big the ring is and how it hangsA diameter of 100 cm is clearly wider than a typical 80–90 cm dining table, so the ring reaches past the top on both sides — it belongs over a large piece of furniture or in the middle of an open space rather than over a narrow table.The fitting hangs on steel cables from a small ceiling canopy, and both are included. The maximum drop is 5 m and the cables can be shortened, so the ring can also be hung in a double-height room or a stairwell. In the standard version the suspension is eccentric: the cables do not meet at one point above the centre of the ring. s.luce intends the fitting for representative interiors — galleries, foyers, stairwells and offices.The light it givesThe ring delivers 4396 lm for 44 W of consumption — enough to light a room on its own rather than only to mark its centre. The 4000 K colour temperature is neutral white, with neither a yellow warmth nor a blue chill, the light under which an interior looks matter-of-fact.Colour rendering is above Ra 90, so fabric, wood and leather colours look close to how they do in daylight. The LEDs are built permanently into the profile and are not replaced like a bulb; the manufacturer rates them at 25,000 hours, about 22 years at three hours a day.DimmingThe fitting dims from a leading- or trailing-edge dimmer — an ordinary wall dimmer described as LED-compatible. No dimmer is included, and without one the ring runs at full output. DALI and smart-home control are fitted by s.luce at the factory to order only; an electrician cannot add them afterwards.Build and the other versionsThe ring is made of metal and plastic, finished in uniform black with no ornament and no visible joins. Each piece is built to order in Germany, and the same model is offered in diameters from 80 to 230 cm and in aluminium, white, gold and gold-leaf finishes.Meer tonen
