inLARGO is a wide recessed aluminium profile from Lumines in an anodised silver finish, made to be built into plasterboard. The piece is 1 m long and the section is rectangular and roomy enough that the manufacturer allows for up to six LED strips side by side.Dimensions and the space it needs in the ceilingThe profile body is 88.6 mm wide and 46.4 mm high, and across the plaster-in flanges the span is 97.6 mm. The distinction is a practical one: 97.6 mm is what the routed groove in the board has to take, and 88.6 mm is the part that seats in it. The profile is pressed into the prepared groove and can also be fixed with a screw, a mounting spring or a bracket. The flanges disappear under the filler, so once skimmed only the lit slot shows in the ceiling.How many strips fit and what load it takesThe inner channel is 84.8 mm wide and 35.1 mm deep, and the manufacturer quotes six LED strips of up to 12 mm each. Measure your own strip including any silicone coating before buying. The data sheet also gives the maximum dissipated power of the LED sources: 100.8 W at a profile temperature of 55 °C and 130.2 W at 65 °C — the figure that really limits the choice of high-output strips per metre. The light leaves perpendicular to the plane of the ceiling.What has to be bought separatelyThe profile comes on its own. The SUPER WIDE cover is bought separately — PMMA clear 11-2093-10, milky 11-2091-10, frosted milky 11-2096-10 or black 11-2097-10 — as are the aluminium end caps with a hole in silver, 12-0405-10. The driver sits outside the profile, and pieces can be joined with straight connectors and 90°, 120° and 135° angle connectors, so longer runs and corners are built from metre lengths. The profile cannot be sealed and is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.Meer tonen
