Sol 4044BL Black LED Outdoor Ceiling Light by NORLYS

Name: Sol 4044BL Black LED Outdoor Ceiling Light by NORLYS
Brand: NORLYS

The Sol 4044BL is an outdoor ceiling light shaped as a low cylinder, 20 cm in diameter and 11 cm tall. The body is an extruded aluminium profile powder-coated black (RAL 9005), closed underneath by a round cover of clear safety glass with a silicone seal.Size and mountingAt 20 cm across the fitting takes up less ceiling than a sheet of A4, and its 11 cm height is the figure to compare with the clearance under a door canopy or an eave. It weighs 2.65 kg and screws to the ceiling with two screws through ø5 mm holes spaced 100 mm apart. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the supply cable needs a round sheath of 7–10.5 mm diameter, entering through an EPDM gland. The next fitting can be looped through with up to 1.5 mm², so several of these under one roof run on a single supply line. The fitting is protection class I, so it is connected with an earth conductor. How much light, and what kindThe integrated Philips Fortimo LED module delivers 2221 lm from the fitting at 19.3 W — an old 60 W bulb gave about 800 lm, so this is main lighting rather than mood lighting. The 4000 K colour is a neutral white, under which colours and faces look natural. The light source is included; there are no bulbs to buy.The light is directed symmetrically downward, and only 0.3% of the flux goes up, so it lights the floor and the entrance rather than the ceiling or the sky. It can be dimmed with a phase dimmer — the maker allows both trailing-edge (TE) and leading-edge (LE) control, so it works with either type of LED-rated dimmer.Where it fitsNorlys designed the Sol for gardens and private grounds; in our catalogue it is assigned to terraces and garden pavilions, where it hangs under a roof. IP65 means a dust-tight body protected against water jets, and IK06 moderate impact resistance, enough where the fitting is out of reach. The plain cylindrical body without ornament suits modern architecture.Show more
