A 12 V DC LED strip from the LED Labs ECO+ line, sold as a 5 m reel. Along its full length it carries 600 SMD 2835 LEDs — 120 LEDs per metre — mounted on an 8 mm wide PCB with 2 oz copper. The back has double-sided adhesive tape, so it sticks directly to a clean surface or to the base of an aluminium profile. What light it gives At 6000 K the light is a cool, slightly bluish white. The manufacturer states 860 lm per metre at 8 W/m, an efficacy of 105 lm/W, and a colour rendering index of Ra 80 — the standard level, at which colours look correct but not as true as under Ra 90 strips. The LEDs emit over a 120° angle. The energy label gives efficiency class F. Power supply and cutting No power supply is included. The strip needs a 12 V DC driver — it cannot be connected directly to 230 V mains. At 8 W/m the whole reel draws 40 W and a shorter piece proportionally less, and that figure is what the driver's rating is chosen against. The strip can be cut every 25 mm at the points marked on the PCB, so its length can be matched to a cabinet, shelf or recess to within 2.5 cm. Where it can be used IP20 means there is no silicone coating, so the strip is suitable for dry interiors only. The manufacturer gives an operating temperature range of -20 to +45°C, a lifetime of 30,000 hours (L70/B50) and 18,000 switching cycles.
