Rattan Cutlery Caddy Natural Brown 29 cm

Name: Rattan Cutlery Caddy Natural Brown 29 cm
Brand: BAZAR BIZAR

A square cutlery caddy, hand-woven from rattan in a natural brown shade. A vertical divider splits the inside into two compartments, and a rattan-wrapped loop rises from the middle of that divider as the handle you lift and carry it by.Size and what it holdsThe base measures 18 × 18 cm – the footprint to compare with the free space on your worktop or in the middle of the table. The 29 cm height includes the handle loop, which stands well above the rim of the basket, so the walls themselves are lower. The two compartments let you keep cutlery and folded napkins apart, or separate knives and forks from spoons. Because the handle sits in the centre, the whole set travels in one hand from the kitchen to the table and back, without moving the contents into another container.Hand-woven rattanThe caddy is made in Indonesia and woven by hand by artisans. With hand weaving, the density of the weave and the tone of the rattan vary from piece to piece, so the basket you receive keeps the character shown in the photos without being an exact copy. At the corners the weave forms a vertical herringbone strip, and a darker cane stiffens the divider and handle, clearly visible in the close-ups.The open, unconcealed weave and the natural colour of the fibre place this caddy in the rustic style. It belongs in the kitchen, keeping cutlery together on the worktop, and in the dining room, where it stays on the table throughout the meal.Show more
