RIM MOD058CL-L35BK is a flush ceiling light shaped as a black aluminium ring 60 cm across, standing 3.5 cm clear of the ceiling. Light leaves through a white silicone diffuser running along the inner edge of the hoop, so the whole circle glows rather than a point in the middle. The ring rests on a rectangular base of 30 × 10.3 cm, visible in the centre.How much light the ring givesThe luminaire draws 35 W and gives 1001 lm at 3000 K and 1007 lm at 4000 K. That works out at roughly 29 lumens per watt, which is where the energy class G comes from, confirmed by the manufacturer's EPREL label — a hoop that lights through its edge returns less light per watt than a ceiling fitting with a flat diffuser. A thousand lumens is about one 10 W LED bulb, so RIM gives soft general light and a clear drawing on the ceiling, while a worktop still needs a separate source. Colour rendering is Ra 80 and the beam angle 120°, so the light spreads widely across ceiling and walls.Two light colours and dimmingThe colour switches between 3000 K — warm and yellowish — and 4000 K, neutral and closer to daylight; the flux is practically the same in both settings. The fitting is dimmable and the manufacturer states the control protocol as TRIAC, an ordinary phase-cut dimmer fitted in the box in place of the switch. The dimmer is not included — it is a separate purchase and a separate connection.Wiring and where it can goThe luminaire is protection class I, so the ceiling box must carry a PE protective conductor and it has to be connected to the fitting; that connection is an electrician's work. Supply is 220–240 V, 50 Hz. The IP20 rating sets the mounting place: dry indoor rooms, no outdoor installation and none of the bathroom protection zones around a bath or shower.The light source is built in permanently — there is no bulb to change or to buy, and the manufacturer states 50 000 hours of operation. The fitting weighs 3 kg. The Rim series allows several rings to be combined into one composition, but the mounting accessories needed for that are bought separately and are not part of this set.Show more
