The FABIO 8453 is a single-light fitting with a 12 cm glass globe in which white runs into brown streaks and forms a marbled pattern. The globe sits on a round brushed-brass base 8 cm across. Wall light or ceiling light, decided at installation The manufacturer allows both mounting positions for the same fitting: on the wall as a sconce and on the ceiling as a flush light. On a wall it projects 16 cm, from a ceiling it drops the same distance, and the brass base measures 8 cm across and 3 cm deep, so it covers a standard wiring box. The fitting weighs 0.5 kg and goes onto a metal bracket screwed to the surface, with the body fitted to the bracket afterwards. It is protection class I, so it has to be connected to wiring with an earth conductor. Which bulbs fit The fitting takes one LED bulb with an E14 base rated up to 7 W. No bulb is included. The manufacturer gives the maximum bulb size as 45 mm across and 80 mm long, so a standard A60 pear will not go in and you need a golf-ball or candle shape. The instruction sheet permits LED sources only. The light can be dimmed, but that needs a dimmer and a bulb described as dimmable. The marbled glass is partly translucent, so a lit bulb shows through the paler areas of the pattern while the darker streaks stay visible as contrast. Where it can go The fitting is rated IP44, which means it is protected against splashing water from any direction. That is the level that allows it beside a bathroom mirror, outside the shower and bath zones themselves. Away from the bathroom it suits anywhere a small wall fitting is wanted: an entrance hall, beside a bed, a living room. Brass with a globe shade is a pairing typical of modernist interiors, and the pattern in the glass differs from piece to piece because it is formed while the globe is blown.Mostra di più
