Lumifall Alcoy 540.SC Round Tilting Recessed Downlight Silver/Chrome

Name: Lumifall Alcoy 540.SC Round Tilting Recessed Downlight Silver/Chrome
Brand: Lumifall

Alcoy 540.SC is a round recessed downlight made of CNC-cut aluminium. The outer frame has a brushed silver surface, and inside it sits a polished chrome ring that tilts together with the lamp by 25° in the vertical plane. What cut-out it needs and how much space above the ceilingThe frame is 82 mm across and the cut-out is 70 mm. The manufacturer's installation drawing asks for at least 90 mm of free space above the ceiling surface, so the fitting suits a suspended or plasterboard ceiling with that much room left for the body, the lamp and the wiring. Check this figure before cutting the holes, especially where the void below the slab is shallow. Two spring clips hold the fitting in the hole: it is pushed in from below without screws and pulled out the same way when you need to reach the cable or change the lamp. The whole fitting weighs 76 g.Which lamp to chooseNo lamp is included. The holder takes a GX5.3 base connected with 2 × 0.75 mm² leads, and the manufacturer also offers a version with a GU10 socket. That choice changes the installation: MR16 lamps on a GX5.3 base are, as standard, 12 V low-voltage lamps fed by a transformer placed above the ceiling, whereas GU10 runs directly on 230 V mains and needs no transformer. The manufacturer allows a halogen lamp of up to 50 W but recommends an LED lamp. The result depends on the beam angle of the lamp you pick: a wide beam gives general lighting, a narrow one gives a spot focused on one place. With the 25° tilt the beam can be aimed at a picture, a shelf or a worktop instead of pointing only straight down.Where Alcoy 540.SC fitsThe fitting is intended for the living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining room, hallway and office – anywhere a few ceiling points replace a single central lamp or complement it. Its modern style comes from the plain round frame without ornament and the pairing of brushed aluminium with shiny chrome. In the Alcoy series the same model also comes as 540.BC (black with chrome) and 540.WC (white with chrome).Mostra di più
