RIO 78 is a pendant built as a closed ring 78 cm across, hung vertically on two transparent cables. The ring profile and the rectangular ceiling plate are finished in gold, and the light comes from a built-in LED module. How big it is and how it hangs The ring measures 78 cm across and the whole fitting spans 150 cm from the ceiling to the bottom edge of the circle — compare both with your ceiling height and with whatever stands underneath. Because the circle hangs vertically, you see it face-on: above a table it reads against the wall behind rather than spreading light across the top like a shade. The rectangular ceiling plate is 24 cm long and covers the connection point. The fitting weighs 5.05 kg, so the fixing has to carry that load — in a suspended ceiling it needs anchoring into the supporting structure, not into the board alone. How much light it gives The LED module draws 33 W and the manufacturer states 4231 lm for it. That is main-lighting territory: an old 60 W bulb gave roughly 800 lm, so RIO 78 lights a room on its own instead of merely adding mood to other fittings. 3000 K is warm white — slightly yellow light, closer to a traditional bulb than to a fluorescent tube. A colour rendering index of Ra 93 means fabrics, wood and food keep almost the colours they have in daylight, which matters over a dining table and beside a mirror. The ring emits around its whole circumference as diffused light, with no defined beam. The module is integrated and supplied with the lamp, so it lights up as soon as it is wired in — but the source cannot be swapped the way a bulb can. Build and wiring The body is aluminium painted gold; the suspension cables and the lead are transparent. The fitting runs on 230 V and is protection class I, which means the circuit must have an earth conductor — worth checking in an older two-core installation before mounting. It is intended for dry indoor spaces. RIO 78 is made in Poland and carries a five-year manufacturer warranty. Where it fits The manufacturer intends this fitting for the living room, bedroom, dining room, kitchen and hallway. The form is modern: a single smooth ring, no ornament and no shade, reading like a drawn line on the wall or above a table.
