An LED strip from the Standard line, supplied on a 5 m reel. Each metre carries 60 diodes in the 3528 SMD package — 300 diodes over the whole reel — and the strip itself is 8 mm wide. It runs on 12 V DC and draws 4.8 W per metre. How much light it gives The strip puts out 190 lm per metre, so a full five-metre reel gives about 950 lm — roughly what an old 60 W bulb produced, spread over five metres. That is a level for accent lighting rather than for lighting a room: under kitchen cabinets, inside a shelving recess, in a wardrobe. The colour is warm white, close to incandescent light. Colour rendering is Ra 60 or more, which is low, so the colours of objects and materials under this strip will be noticeably less faithful than under an Ra 90 strip. Luminous efficacy is 40 lm/W and energy consumption 24 kWh per 1000 hours. What you need to buy with it The pack holds the strip alone. No driver is included, and without one the strip will not run: it needs a 12 V output driver rated at a minimum of 24 W, that is 4.8 W times five metres. Shorten the strip and the required power falls in proportion to the length of the run. The diodes are soldered in place and are not replaced individually — a worn section is replaced as a whole. Cutting and mounting The strip can be cut every 50 mm at the marks printed on the circuit; one section is three diodes. The back is covered with double-sided adhesive tape, so the strip sticks straight onto the surface with no screws. The tracks run on a laminate with a 2 oz copper layer, which helps carry heat away from under the diodes. The IP20 rating means no water protection of any kind — the strip belongs in dry interiors only, not by a bath and not outdoors. The manufacturer gives a working temperature range of -20°C to +50°C. The absence of a silicone sleeve, which is what rules out damp places, also lets the diodes cool more easily.Mostra di più
