W is a recessed aluminium profile for LED strip with a 22 × 18 mm section and a length of 2.02 m. The anodised inox version has a matt, brown-olive tone, clearly darker than silver anodising. The profile is sold bare: no cover, no strip, no end caps and no springs. What groove it needs and how it holds The 17 mm wide body goes into the groove, and a 2.5 mm flange stays on the surface — that is how far the profile stands proud of the ceiling or wall. So the groove is prepared for 17 mm, not for the 22 mm the profile measures across the flange. The manufacturer provides for four fixing techniques: mounting springs, screws, double-sided tape and press-fit. The springs are the right answer in lightweight structures such as plasterboard: they hold the profile from inside and leave no visible screw heads. What fits inside and what has to be bought separately The channel is 14.4 mm wide, and the maximum LED strip width stated by the manufacturer is 12 mm. IP65 strip in a silicone jacket is often 1–2 mm wider than its IP20 counterpart, so measure your own strip before ordering. The driver does not fit inside the profile — the manufacturer places it outside, which has to be allowed for when planning the installation. Bought separately are the BASIC cover (transparent, frosted, milky, black, Fractal and the lensed Lens 15 and Lens 30) and the end caps, which in this family come only in the version with a cable hole. Without a cover and sealing the profile is rated IP20; with the sealing kit the manufacturer declares IP68. Joining into continuous lines The sections can be joined. A straight joint uses connector 14-3032-02 seated in a milled recess, and direction changes use the 90°, 120° and 135° angle connectors, the transverse angle connector and the 3 × 120° branch. The stated 2 m is in fact 2020 mm — the extra 20 mm is cutting allowance and has to be counted in when several sections make up one line. The maximum dissipated power of the LED sources is given by the manufacturer as 23.8 W at a profile temperature of 55 °C and 32.0 W at 65 °C.
