Strömsholm is a crystal ceiling light 36 cm across that mounts flat against the ceiling. The frame is iron in an antique brass finish, with cast ornaments spaced around the rim. Two rows of machine-cut prisms hang from that rim, closed underneath by a fringe of small crystals threaded onto chains. Size and how it mounts The fitting is 36 cm in diameter, 23 cm tall and weighs 2.5 kg. The canopy sits against the ceiling, so the whole body drops only those 23 cm — it fits where a pendant would take too much headroom. The maker specifies mounting on a ceiling hook and connection at a terminal block: there is no lead with a plug, so the fitting is wired permanently into the circuit. Protection class I means an earth conductor is required, which makes this a job for an electrician. How much light it gives Three E14 lampholders sit inside the crystal basket, each taking up to 40 W. Bulbs are not included, so you choose colour and brightness yourself — three sources of roughly 800 lm each match three old 60 W bulbs, and 2700 K gives warm light with a yellowish cast. Dimming works only if the bulb itself is dimmable and a dimmer is fitted in the circuit; the light has no dimming electronics of its own. The lamps sit behind the prisms, so the light passes through cut crystal and spreads sideways and onto the ceiling as well as straight down. Finish and where it suits The crystals are machine-cut, so the edges repeat identically on every piece. Antique brass is darker and more matt than polished brass, and the ornaments sit at several points on the rim and on the ceiling canopy. A basket of prisms on a brass rim is a classic and plainly decorative shape.
