CAIRO is a semi-flush ceiling light from Alora: a square brass plate at the ceiling, four slim posts, and below them a shade shaped as a shallow inverted pyramid of ribbed glass in a brass frame. Four bulbs sit visible behind the glass, and the finish is vintage brass. How much ceiling it takes and how much it weighs The fitting is square, 48.2 cm on each side, and measures 42 cm from the ceiling down to the tip of the pyramid. That is semi-flush height: it drops as low as a pendant but without hanging on wires, so it fits where a full pendant would already be too low. Net weight is 19.5 kg, and that figure decides the installation — a fitting this heavy has to be fixed to a structural part of the ceiling, not to plasterboard alone.
