BASIS TR080-1-12W4K-B is a linear luminaire for the Maytoni Radity magnetic track system. The black extruded aluminium body measures 22.2 cm long and 2.6 cm wide, and its whole underside is taken up by a matt polycarbonate diffuser. The fitting is held on the track magnetically. Which system it belongs to The luminaire runs on 48 V and belongs to the Radity magnetic system. It cannot be mounted on an ordinary 230 V track, single-phase or three-phase, because both the fixing and the supply are different. Running it requires the Radity track together with a system driver; neither comes with the fitting. A 48 V supply means protection class III, safety extra-low voltage: the fitting needs no earth connection, and the mains side of the installation stays with the driver. How much light it gives The LED is built in permanently, draws 12 W and delivers 850 lm – close to a former 60 W incandescent bulb. One fitting therefore lights a part of a room rather than the whole of it, and several are usually spaced along a single track. 4000 K is neutral white: without the yellow cast of warm light and without the chill of daylight. A colour rendering index of Ra 90 means colours read almost as they do in daylight, which matters over a worktop, at a mirror and above displayed goods. The 120 degree beam angle gives broad, general light rather than a narrow accent cone. The light source cannot be replaced; the manufacturer states a service life of 50,000 hours. The fitting is not dimmable, so it always runs at full output. Build and dimensions The extruded aluminium profile carries heat away from the diodes, and the matt polycarbonate spreads the light of 24 LEDs so that no individual points show on the diffuser. The body is the same black as the track. At 22.2 × 2.6 × 2.9 cm and 0.15 kg it takes up just under a quarter of a metre of track – the figure to compare with your track length and the number of fittings you want on it. Where it works The manufacturer intends the Basis series for general lighting in homes and commercial interiors: living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms, as well as hotels, restaurants and shops.
