ASTRO is a wall lamp built from two discs: a transparent plexiglass plate 28 cm across that sits flat against the wall, and a brown steel disc mounted in front of it. The LED module sits between them, screened from the front, and the whole fitting stands 8.5 cm out from the wall. How much light it gives and what you need to buy The built-in LED module draws 7.5 W and delivers 1070 lm at 3000 K, a warm, slightly yellow light close to a traditional bulb. That is more than the old 60 W lamp, which corresponds to roughly 800 lm, so the fitting is not merely decorative wall lighting. The light source is included and permanently built in: there is no socket and no bulb to replace, so nothing has to be bought separately, but the colour of the light cannot be changed later either. The manufacturer states energy class E and a five-year warranty, and makes the lamp in Poland. How much wall it takes The disc is 28 cm across, so it occupies a circle of that width on the wall. The 8.5 cm projection is worth comparing with the width of the passage where it will be mounted: in a corridor it decides whether the lamp gets in the way, above a bed it sets how close to the wall the furniture can stand. The fitting weighs 0.5 kg and mounts on a bar screwed to the wall, with the wires joined in an L-N terminal block. The bracket at the wall is brown like the disc, the lead is black. Where the shape comes from The lamp was designed by Marta Foit as part of PROJEKT MŁODE ŚWIATŁO, which Thoro runs together with the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice.
