Harper T5 is a linear LED lamp 116.5 cm long and 1.8 cm across, with T5 pin caps at both ends. It gives white light at 6500 K and replaces the tube in the linear flush ceiling lights of Endon's Harper range. Which fitting it goes into Fit is decided by length and cap: the tube is 116.5 cm with T5 pins at both ends, so it only drops into a fitting with matching lampholder spacing. The manufacturer intends it for the larger linear Harper fittings — a shorter version of the same tube covers the smaller ones, so it is worth measuring the tube you are replacing before ordering. The fitting the manufacturer names alongside it is the Harper LED 2lt medium flush. That one holds two light points, so changing both tubes at once means two units rather than one. The 1.8 cm diameter is the T5 standard, thinner than the 2.6 cm of older T8 fluorescents. The manufacturer gives a two-year warranty on the tube. The light it gives Drawing 16 W, the tube puts out 2400 lm, around 150 lm from every watt. For comparison, an old 60 W incandescent gave roughly 800 lm, so one tube of this kind lights a room on its own. 6500 K is the coolest of the everyday light colours: a distinct white with a bluish cast and none of the yellow of a filament lamp. The manufacturer quotes a 50,000 hour service life. The diodes are built into the tube and are not changed individually — when it is spent, the whole tube is replaced.
