GFA752N is a round recessed luminaire with a flat body 22.5 cm across. The housing is thermoplastic finished in matt white, and the whole lower face is taken up by an anti-glare plastic diffuser. The LED module is built in and supplied with the fitting. The cut-out it needs and the space it takes above the ceiling The visible ring measures 22.5 cm across and the cut-out is 20.5 cm, leaving about a centimetre of rim on each side to cover the edge of the opening. The whole fitting is only 3.5 cm high and sits almost entirely above the ceiling plane. That is less than the depth of a typical suspended-ceiling frame, so the fitting goes in where an ordinary downlight with a separate body no longer fits. It is held by the leaf springs visible on the manufacturer's drawing, two on the rim. How much light it gives Drawing 18 W, the module delivers 1620 lm, roughly twice what an old 60 W bulb gave - one such fitting lights a small room, and in a larger one it works as part of a grid. The 4000 K colour is a neutral white, with neither a yellow nor a blue cast. The beam is 120° wide and the diffuser spreads the light over the whole disc, so the fitting lights evenly rather than throwing a spot. The manufacturer describes the diffuser as anti-glare, which matters where the fitting sits in the field of view of someone working. The colour rendering index is above 80. Supply and running it The fitting connects directly to 220-240 V mains and needs no separate driver. It is protection class II, so no protective earth conductor is required to connect it. The light cannot be dimmed - the manufacturer states on/off operation only, so a dimmer on the circuit will change nothing.
