TAIDA 1928 is a wall light with a matt black body: a round wall plate, a straight tubular arm projecting from it and two opal white glass globes. One globe sits on the arm right by the wall, the other hangs beneath its far end. How big it is and how far it projects The fitting is 24 cm high, 12 cm wide and stands 24 cm out from the wall. That 24 cm projection is the figure to compare with the width of the passage where you plan to mount it — in a narrow hallway or right beside the edge of a bed, a fitting of this depth starts to get in the way. The globes are close to the fitting's width in diameter, about 12 cm, and sit diagonally offset: one above the arm, one below. The light therefore occupies a square of roughly 24 cm on the wall rather than a single line. Which bulbs it takes and how much light it gives The wall light has two G9 lampholders and the manufacturer states a maximum of 14 W each. Bulbs are not included, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself; bedrooms usually get 2700–3000 K, which is warm, slightly yellow light. The shades are opal glass and the bulb does not show through them — they light up across their whole surface, evenly and with no hard point in your line of sight. Because one globe faces up and the other down, the light travels both ways along the wall instead of forming a single patch. Build and mounting The body is steel finished in black, the shades are glass. The whole fitting weighs 0.38 kg and mounts on the round wall plate, which covers the installation box. It runs on standard 230 V. The IP20 rating means the fitting is intended for dry interiors only — it is not suitable for the zone beside a shower or for outdoors. The manufacturer gives a five-year warranty, and the light sources are replaceable, so only the G9 capsule is swapped when a bulb reaches the end of its life.Show more
