The VASA 128 is an outdoor wall light by Norlys shaped as a section of a cylinder: powder-coated cast aluminium in black RAL 9005, open at the top and at the bottom. It is 31 cm wide, 15.5 cm high and stands 12.5 cm off the wall. How it spreads the light The fitting emits on two sides, up and down, and the manufacturer states ULOR 50%, meaning half the flux goes above the plane of the luminaire. On a wall that gives two diverging bands of light instead of a single pool underneath, so it lights the facade surface rather than only the ground in front of it. The luminaire puts out 631 lm at 3000 K, warm white with a slightly yellow tone, close to a classic incandescent bulb. A colour rendering index of Ra 80 is enough for render, timber or brick on a facade. Behind the clear, structured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate cover sit two permanently built-in LED modules and the electronic driver inside the body. Mounting and wiring There are two ways to fix it: through an intermediate plate with two 5 x 10 mm slots at 45 mm centres, or directly through two ø5 mm holes at 68 mm centres. The first route lets you align the fitting when existing plugs miss the spacing. The luminaire is protection class I, so a protective earth conductor has to reach the box. The terminals take up to 3 x 2.5 mm² and allow further fittings to be looped through at up to 3 x 1.5 mm² — a row along a facade runs off one supply instead of a cable each. The gland takes round cable of ø7–10.5 mm. IP65 means protection against water jets and IK08 against impact; the silicone gasket and the EPDM gland are orderable separately as spare parts. Dimming and service It dims only on a trailing-edge phase dimmer, marked TE or RC. An older leading-edge dimmer (R, RL), typical of pre-LED installations, will not work with this fitting — one of the points worth checking before buying. Norlys states 72,000 h of LED module operation to 80% of initial flux and 50,000 h for the driver. Both are replaceable by the manufacturer's service and carry their own service-kit part numbers, so an electronics failure does not mean replacing the whole luminaire.
