LED Labs STD 16-1066-42 is a five-metre LED strip with 600 SMD 2835 LEDs and fixed neutral white light at 4000 K. This IP65HS version uses a heat-shrink sleeve rather than a conventional silicone coating. When comparing strips in the STD range, check the protective construction as well as the light colour and supply voltage.Plan the length and mounting spaceThe PCB is 8 mm wide, with cutting points at 25 mm intervals. Compare these dimensions with the available mounting space and the section length you need before choosing a profile. There are 120 LEDs per metre. The separate visible LED points should not be confused with the continuous emitting surface of a COB strip. The manufacturer specifies a double-sided adhesive backing for attachment to the supporting surface.Fixed white light and a matching power supplyThe 4000 K colour temperature does not change: this is neither an RGB strip nor a tunable-white version. The specified luminous flux is 1040 lm per metre, with CRI 80 colour rendering. These figures describe the strip itself, not the illumination reaching a worktop, which also depends on placement and any cover used.Operation requires a 12 V DC LED power supply. Power consumption is 9.6 W per metre, so supply sizing needs to account for the length connected. Do not connect the strip directly to a 230 V mains supply. Dimming is possible only with a suitable compatible dimmer.Under cabinets and around splashesThe manufacturer identifies under-cabinet kitchen lighting as one application. The narrow format allows a line of light to be planned into cabinetry instead of using separate spot fittings. IP65 provides protection against dust and water jets, not immersion.
