Rena 1550ST is a round drive-over light for setting into paving: a 13 cm stainless-steel front ring, clear safety glass beneath it and a body of powder-coated cast aluminium. It shines upwards in a symmetrical 36° beam, so it works as an orientation light along a driveway or as a small spotlight picking out a plant or a wall. Where it can be installed Vehicles on pneumatic tyres may drive over it, and Norlys gives a maximum load of 2000 kg. It should not be fitted in traffic lanes where wheels brake, accelerate or turn – those horizontal forces are a different load from plain weight. IP68 allows permanent immersion, so standing water in the ground is no problem, and IK09 means it withstands an impact of 10 J. The front is 13 cm across and the fitting reaches 15.7 cm into the ground, which is the depth to prepare. It is fixed with three screws through ø4.5 mm holes at 120° on a 100 mm circle, either into the supplied housing set in according to the instructions or into a hole prepared in timber decking. Lamp and light A Philips MASTER LED ExpertColor GU10 5.5 W lamp is included, at 3000 K warm white and a colour rendering index of Ra 90, under which the colours of leaves and stone look natural. The lamp gives 375 lm and 294 lm leaves the fitting, at 5.3 W. The fitting can be dimmed with a trailing-edge (TE) or leading-edge (LE) phase dimmer. During the warranty period the lamp may only be replaced by an authorised service or the manufacturer. All of the light goes upwards. If the beam needs shielding from above, Norlys offers a round shield for Rena, art. 140xx0009. Connection and parts The fitting comes with 1 m of H05BQ-F 3G1 cable ending in a THB.391.R4A.L cable connector. Junction boxes 145ZX0009 and 146ZX0009 are sold separately. It is protection class I, so it needs a protective earth, and installation is done by a suitably qualified person. The glass, the gasket and the lamp are available as spare parts. Where it suits Rena 1550ST has a plain, modern form: a smooth steel ring flush with the surface.
