RUSTY SQUARE 40 is a low SLV bollard with a square 12 × 12 cm section and a height of 40 cm, made of rust-coloured FeCSi steel. The top is a head of three horizontal louvres with a polycarbonate diffuser showing between them. The post stands on a square mounting plate measuring 17 cm per side. Rusted steel that keeps changing The FeCSi steel is treated so that a controlled layer of rust forms on its surface. That layer protects the material underneath from further corrosion, so the rust look is the finish itself, not a sign of wear. Weather keeps altering its shade and texture, so two bollards in different spots of the garden will not look identical after a while. The bollard weighs 12.1 kg net, which is worth knowing for delivery and for handling it into position. The first gives warm white light; the second a neutral white under which foliage and stone look cooler. SLV describes the light output as direct-indirect: light leaves through the gaps between the louvres rather than from an exposed diffuser, so the bollard marks a path, steps or the edge of a bed instead of lighting the whole garden.
