NORLYS London 4020BD Gold Patina Pole-Mounted Lantern on Bracket Arm, E27

Name: NORLYS London 4020BD Gold Patina Pole-Mounted Lantern on Bracket Arm, E27
Brand: NORLYS

NORLYS London 4020BD is a classic lantern with four clear panes and a hipped roof topped with a finial, carried on a curved arm. The body is cast aluminium, powder-coated in a gold patina finish – Norlys lists it as black with gold – and the panes are clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate, so the bulb stays visible as in a traditional street lantern. How it is mounted and what is in the boxThe manufacturer's data sheet classes it as a post-top luminaire: the arm fixes to the 3040 terminal, which slides onto the pole. The box contains only the luminaire with its arm – the terminal and the pole are ordered separately. Norlys builds its London 482 and London 483 lampposts from these parts, with two or three of these luminaires on one 3010 pole. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm².The luminaire is 20.5 cm wide, projects 30 cm from its fixing point and weighs 1.85 kg net. Compare that projection with the distance between the pole and the path or wall it will stand beside.Which bulb to chooseInside is a single E27 socket for an A55–A60 shaped LED bulb of up to 9 W. The bulb is not included, so the colour and brightness of the light depend on the lamp you pick – an LED of around 800 lm gives as much light as an old 60 W incandescent. The user replaces the bulb. Only 1% of the light goes upwards (ULOR 1%), so the lantern lights the ground beneath it rather than the sky.Build and where it fitsIP54 protects against dust and splashing water from any direction, so the luminaire works outdoors without a canopy, in temperatures from −20 to +45 °C. Impact resistance is IK07, and protection class II means insulation that needs no earth conductor. An EPDM gland seals the cable entry. A cracked diffuser does not mean replacing the whole luminaire – Norlys stocks a diffuser service kit, part number 0904800051.The finial roof, slender panes and curved arm give it the classic English lantern form, and the gold patina sets this version apart from the plain white and black ones. It suits a garden by the house as well as the grounds of a hotel or restaurant.Show more
