The GES864C is an outdoor wall light shaped as a 10 cm cube, die-cast in aluminium and finished in brown. Light leaves through a top and a bottom slot closed with clear glass — two bright bands appear on the wall above and below the fitting, while the body itself stays dark. Size and wiring The cube measures 10 × 10 × 10 cm and weighs 0.65 kg. Compare that figure with the width of the pier, gate post or strip of wall beside the front door where the light is to sit — at this edge length it reads as a detail rather than as the dominant element of the elevation. The fitting is insulation class I, so the outlet box must carry an earth conductor; it must not be connected without one. An IP54 rating means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction, which is why it may hang on an unsheltered façade. It runs on standard 230 V. How much light it gives and how to aim it The built-in LED module draws 2 × 5 W and delivers 475 lm in total at 3000 K — warm white with a slightly yellow cast. The output splits into two beams, one up and one down, so the fitting does not light the whole area but draws two bright bands on the wall. Adjustable internal wings sit in both slots and change the lighting effect; the manufacturer quotes a beam angle range of 0–115°, from a narrow band hugging the render to a wide spread. Colour rendering above Ra 80 keeps brick and timber looking their own colour. The light is not dimmable and works on/off. Build and what is in the box The body is die-cast aluminium and the slots are closed with transparent glass. The matt brown finish sits alongside timber, clinker brick and dark window frames without standing out against them. The LED module and the transformer are both included, so nothing beyond the supply cable has to be bought separately. The light source cannot be replaced, however — the manufacturer rates it at 30,000 hours, after which the whole fitting is changed.Show more
