BALL TABLE WHITE M is a compact table lamp from the BALL series: a 20 cm opal glass globe set on a flat, round metal base finished in matt white. The lamp stands 23 cm tall and the cord leaves the side of the base with a switch fitted on it. How much surface it takes up The base measures 14 cm across, but the glass globe is wider and reaches 20 cm — that second figure is the clearance to leave on a shelf, a chest of drawers or a bedside table. At 23 cm tall the lamp takes up roughly the space of a larger plant pot and does not block the view over the surface it stands on. It weighs 0.95 kg, so you can move it with one hand and carry it from a shelf to a desk without effort. The shade itself is glass, which is worth keeping in mind when moving it — pick the lamp up by the metal base. Which bulb it needs The fitting takes a single E27 bulb rated up to 15 W in LED technology and runs on ordinary 230 V mains. No bulb is included, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself — for a bedroom or a living room 2700–3000 K is the usual pick, meaning warm light with a slightly yellow cast. The opal glass encloses the bulb and spreads the light evenly in every direction, upwards and sideways as well. The lit element is not visible through the shade, so the lamp does not glare when it sits at eye level — on a bedside table or a windowsill. Materials and operation The manufacturer lists two materials separately: metal for the base and glass for the shade. The base is finished in matt white with no gloss and the globe is a uniform milky white — the same white returns on the cord, so the cable does not stand out against light furniture. The switch sits on the cord, close to the base, so the light goes on without reaching under the shade and without getting out of bed. Aldex intends the lamp for a shelf, a chest of drawers or a bedside table.
