Bazar Bizar Sumba Stone #34 — sandstone decoration with shells on stand, 19 cm

Name: Bazar Bizar Sumba Stone #34 — sandstone decoration with shells on stand, 19 cm
Brand: BAZAR BIZAR

Bazar Bizar Sumba Stone #34 is a freestanding decoration with an elongated face hand-carved from beige sandstone. A cowrie-shell headband adds a distinct detail above the simplified features, while a black stand holds the stone upright. The mask-like form and combination of stone and shells give the piece its ethnic style.Size and display positionThe decoration measures 19 cm high, 6 cm long and 5 cm wide. Compare these dimensions with the space on your shelf or console, including the clearance above it if you plan to use a recessed shelf. It can sit on living-room shelving or a hallway console, with the face viewed from the front. The upright composition is intended for tabletop display, so allow space for the complete piece rather than judging its size from a close-up of the face.Sandstone, shells and the included standThe porous sandstone has a natural beige colour and a visible surface texture. Hand-carved facial features and the pale cowrie shells offer two different details to look at, particularly when the sculpture is seen from an angle. This decoration is made in Indonesia, and #34 identifies the version with the shell headband. The black stand is made from iron and comes with the decoration, so a separate display support is unnecessary. The stone cannot be removed from the stand. Keep that fixed relationship in mind when arranging it among books or other objects: the face and its support remain one standing composition.Natural variation and careSmall variations in tone and texture are part of this natural, hand-carved piece, so individual examples need not reproduce every surface detail in the photograph. Use the images to judge the design and overall appearance rather than an identical pattern in the stone. Remove dust periodically with a soft cloth or brush, including around the shell detailing. Place the decoration on a secure surface, as recommended by the manufacturer.Εμφάνιση περισσότερων
