NATURE 7807 is a ceiling fan with a built-in LED light, white throughout. Three polycarbonate blades are turned by a motor inside the shallow housing, and an open cage of vertical bars runs around the whole thing. The design is by José Ignacio Ballester. How the fan works A 30 W DC motor drives it, with eight speeds. Air flow reaches 104 m3/min at a maximum of 380 revolutions per minute - figures to compare with the volume of your own room, because that is what decides how often the air is turned over in an hour. The manufacturer gives the noise level as 33 dB on the lowest setting and 49 dB on the highest. The first sits in the range where the unit can be left running overnight. The blades are reversible and have a summer and a winter mode: in summer they push air down, in winter up, to bring the warm air back from under the ceiling without blowing on anyone seated. How much light it gives and of what kind The built-in LED light draws 75 W and delivers 5000 lm. That is enough for a room's main lighting rather than for additional light only. The colour temperature adjusts steadily from 2700 K, a warm white close to the old incandescent bulb, up to 5000 K - cool daylight. Brightness is adjustable and colour rendering is Ra 80. The manufacturer states 25,000 operating hours for the module and - which is not a given on an integrated fitting - describes it as replaceable, so a spent module does not decide the fate of the whole fan. What controls it A radio remote working at 2.4 GHz is supplied. It handles light and fan separately, plus the direction of rotation and a timer. The manufacturer also states Bluetooth and app control, so speed and colour can be changed from a phone as well. Mounting and build The fitting is 21.2 cm high and mounts straight to the ceiling with no extension rod - which is what lets it work in rooms with a lower ceiling, where a suspended fan would hang too low. It occupies a circle 79 cm across. The structure is steel and ABS, the blades polycarbonate. The unit weighs 6.8 kg net, runs on 230 V and belongs to protection class I, so the ceiling box has to carry an earth conductor.
