BOSSI BLACK is a pendant lamp in black-painted metal. The shade comes in two parts: a wide, flat cylinder 30 cm across with a narrower cylinder above it, the two joined by an open ring of vertical bars. The shade is open at the bottom, so the bulb stays in view. How big it is and how low it hangs The shade is 30 cm across and the whole lamp, cable and ceiling rose included, measures 120 cm. Over a 75 cm dining table the bottom edge of a shade usually sits 70–80 cm above the top, which this drop allows in a room of ordinary height. A 30 cm shade is narrower than the usual fitting over a table, so above an 80–90 cm wide top two or three are normally hung side by side rather than one. Boxed, the lamp weighs 1.6 kg. The light it gives and what to buy with it The fitting has one E27 lampholder and takes a bulb of up to 60 W. No bulb is supplied — colour and brightness are yours to choose, and whether the lamp dims depends on the bulb you pick. The metal shade is opaque, so the main output goes downward onto the surface under the lamp. Through the ring of vertical bars between the two shade sections some light escapes sideways and lifts the ceiling and the wall around the fitting. The IP20 rating is for dry interiors only — this lamp is not intended for a bathroom or for outdoors. The manufacturer intends it for a living room, a kitchen, a hallway and for catering premises.
